Work is now complete on the brand new cold store for Flowervision in Lancashire. The new 13.5m x 40m facility for the Chorley based florist wholesaler, is now open to trade customers from the floristry/horticultural industry. The newly installed cold store from DD Cooling, which houses the impressive range of fresh flowers, includes installed chillers above a false ceiling to ensure that air is dispensed evenly throughout the store, keeping the flowers in the specified climate controlled environment to maintain freshness.

Due to the recent relocation of Flowervision, we needed to expand and increase the capacity at our Lancashire facility, to include a newly built wholesale shop facility. We were looking to build a new cold store, that could not only store our flowers, but house them at a perfect ambient temperature, to ensure that they maintained freshness over a longer period.

The cold store installed by DD Cooling  now ensures that the temperature remains below 10 degrees at all time, which allows our flowers to remain fresh, but also allows our wholesale customers a comfortable browsing environment to view our stock. DD Cooling installed an innovative ‘equal air distribution’ ceiling which included chillers above a false ceiling. This method ensures that the chilled air is dispensed evenly, throughout the store, keeping the specified climate-controlled environment as requested. DD Cooling handled the internal fit out of our new wholesale shop facility, from design and build through to installation of our unique glass viewing doors.  The project was handled professionally throughout the entire build, through to commissioning and has met all our objectives. We would recommend DD Cooling for any projects, including specialist builds like our own. – Paul Koppert – Managing Director
